If chartering your very own private helicopter and exchanging personal vows during an intimate and extremely personal mountain top elopement in the middle BC’s backcountry isn’t the west coast wedding dream, then truly we don’t know what is. For many, a wedding means being surrounded by hundreds of guests, adoring fans and being the centre of attention for hours on end, but for these two the vision was incredibly specific from the very beginning. K + C wanted nothing over the top, nothing loud and certainly nothing extreme. Instead of a room full of people, they opted for something more personal and completely intimate. While COVID derailed an international adventure to the highlands of Scotland, a quick helicopter ride above the clouds to the top of a mountain was the magical setting they never knew they needed, and truly a moment in our wedding photography journey that we will never forget.

We often say that there is a secret sauce in the perfect wedding day (the weather, the couple’s connection, the vibes, the venue) and it was certainly true with Kaylee + Felipe’s wedding because every single element came together and it was an actual joy to photograph. They told us from the first day we met them that it was their plan to make their wedding entirely their own, which basically meant saying ‘I do’ in a remote location surrounded by the people in their life they hold close, before hosting their reception in their family home. Where do we sign up!? No venue restrictions, no crunched timeline and no squeezing their ideal wedding day into a box of rules. Needless to say, it was a huge success.

For many reasons Jack + Becky’s wedding at Cecil Green Park House will forever be one of the most memorable weddings we had the pleasure of photographing this season. Their connection, their style and that dress are all reasons why we had THE BEST time celebrating along side them both, however, without question the most memorable element of their day was watching the most beautiful sunset on the upper balcony of Cecil Green Park House. Wedding days can be hectic and busy, and schedules can at times feel impossible to maintain, but taking even 10 minutes to relax, reflect and capture a few moments under the setting sun makes it all worth it. We watch a lot of sunsets over the course of our season, but we can say with complete certainty that this one won the prize for the best 2018 golden hour moment!
