For many reasons Jack + Becky’s wedding at Vancouver’s Cecil Green Park House will forever be one of the most memorable weddings we had the pleasure of photographing this season. Their connection, their style and that dress are all reasons why we had THE BEST time celebrating along side them both, however, without question the most memorable element of their day was watching the most beautiful sunset on the upper balcony of Cecil Green Park House. Wedding days can be hectic and busy, and schedules can at times feel impossible to maintain, but taking even 10 minutes to relax, reflect and capture a few moments under the setting sun makes it all worth it. We watch a lot of sunsets over the course of our season, but we can say with complete certainty that this one won the prize for the best 2018 golden hour moment! Thanks for pulling out a win Mother Nature!
Sometimes we feel like a broken record, but this year has been, among many wonderful things, the year of the most incredible couples, all of whom have placed their trust in us to document their day and their stories authentically. We truly feel blessed to photograph weddings here in beautiful Vancouver, BC. How could we not when we have the pleasure of shooting at beautiful spaces like Cecil Green.
Jack + Becky said ‘I do’ on the back lawn of the beautiful property with the sun beginning to fall behind the trees framing their spot. Prior to that we spent the afternoon running around some beautiful areas and building backdrops of UBC. Following their ceremony and family photos, we celebrated the couple on the back deck for the most stunning outdoor reception. Of course the real treat of the day was concluding their wedding day watching the most incredible red sunset.
This season has taught us many things but above all it has reaffirmed in our hearts the importance of weddings being a representation of the couple. The 2018 wedding season has been jam packed with couples who have planned their day entirely their way. They have selected venues that represented them and planned their day around the importance of it meaning something special to them first and foremost. We feel so lucky to have worked along side so many incredible humans.
