Elopements. We were lucky enough to document a couple of elopements this past season. They will always have a special place in our hearts because at their core they are exactly what weddings are all about. Two people coming together as one. Here we have two incredible humans who made the decision to say 'I do' in the most intimate way possible, on a rock overlooking the ocean in the most beautiful slice of paradise that BC has to offer. We were the fortunate ones lucky enough to not only witness the occasion, but document this chapter in their journey together. We will truly never forget our experience with them both. We certainly hope to play a role in more elopements this coming season.
Andrew + Lauren took us to The Pointhouse for their wedding, a beautiful slice of BC on the Sunshine Coast. We spent their intimate day running around the unbelievable property taking portraits of them celebrating their love and the new journey they were embarking on in life together. Ocean views, beach views and tree views are just some of the stunning elements this venue had to offer. Truly a picture perfect representation of what the West Coast has to offer. We have visited the coast a few times since and we will forever remember our time spent at the Pointhouse.
Their ceremony took place as the sun began to set with only their close family present as witnesses (and us of course!) On very few occasions have we ever had the opportunity to document something so intimate and truly special than these two reading their vows to one another with only close family present. With absolutely nothing to serve as an interruption, every vow resonated and we will honestly never forget such an experience (Chris may have shed a tear or two). We are fortunate call these two our close friends and standing along side their families while they take on life together is a moment we will forever cherish in our hearts. Each wedding is special, but we feel truly blessed to have witnessed this one.
The only appropriate way to end such an incredible day was of course to enjoy a delicious feast with their family before hopping out on the rocks once more to capture the last few drops of sunlight as it faded over the ocean skyline.
Every wedding teaches us something new. Each experience we have been fortunate to work through in our wedding photography journey has left us with a memory we will truly never forget. Our time at the Pointhouse was without question a key element of our 2017 year. Thank you Andrew + Lauren for placing your trust in us and for allowing us to play a role in your journey together. We have said it to you before and we will say it again, but we will never forget the experience of documenting your story. We wish you both a lifetime of love and happiness, and we cannot wait to tackle life together with you both.
