There are no shortage of locations to consider for your engagement session, but if you’re looking for an uninterrupted ocean skyline, beautiful views of the Lions Gate Bridge and unbelievable sunsets, Ambleside Park in North Vancouver might be the perfect location for you. When Laura + Marcelo first approached us with the idea of exploring Ambleside Park for their engagement session, which was a favourite location for them when walking their dog, we jumped at the opportunity and it could not have been more special.

Those of you who have been following along on our photography journey since the beginning know that Vancouver Island holds a special place in our hearts, to finally have the opportunity to photograph a beautiful sunset engagement session in downtown Victoria was a dream come true.

There are very few locations here in BC that are quintessentially more West Coast than the stunning Mystic Beach which is the perfect location for any engagement session on Vancouver Island. If ocean views, enormous rock walls, old growth forests, waterfalls and crashing waves don’t scream West Coast Engagement vibes, then truly nothing else will.

The connection these two humans share is like nothing we have ever seen before, and when they decided they wanted their engagement session to be relaxed and effortless, we could think of no better plan than to take a beautiful sunset stroll through their neighbourhood in downtown Vancouver.

A beautifully moody and romantic evening engagement session at Pitt Lake in Pitt Meadows BC. The evening light perfectly complimented this couple.

Without question one of our most memorable evenings this past season has been helping these two beautiful humans celebrate and when they mentioned that UBC held a special place in their hearts, we immediately knew there would be no better spot for a stunning sunset engagement session then the stunning campus and beautiful beaches home to UBC in Vancouver.

Like many couples during the pandemic, K + A were separated for many months by border closures and government restrictions, and when they emailed us of their plan to finally reunite with a anniversary session, we could think of no better location to explore than the oceanside cliffs of West Vancouver’s Lighthouse Park.

For years as a photographer here in Vancouver, we have run away from photographing in the city and taking our clients on adventures throughout downtown, but this rainy urban downtown Vancouver engagement session is proof that even in the wettest of conditions, there is magic to be found in every corner of this beautiful city.

We have always been drawn to and taken inspiration from the beautiful landscape that is home to living on the West Coast, and when N + C suggested taking the family boat out on the water in search of some cliffs on Gambier Island to watch the sunset for their engagement session, we almost fainted with excitement. One of the most common questions we are asked when assisting our couples with planning and coordinating their engagement session is ‘where should take our photos’ and while we take pride in our growing list of beautiful local spots, It was the cliffs of Gambier Island and the stunning provincial park in Halket Bay that will stand out as being perhaps the most beautiful west coast engagement session location we have ever adventured to.

This stunning sunset engagement session at West Vancouver’s Whytecliff Park is the perfect reminder of how incredible evening engagement sessions on the west coast can be.
