The beautiful moss covered trees home to Paradise Valley and the stunning views from the Sea to Sky Gondola are two of the main reasons why Squamish is the perfect setting for an engagement session. One moment you can be lost in the forest and the next way up high in the mountains.
It’s no secret that engagement sessions are some of our most favourite things to photograph. Anyone following along on our social media handles will undoubtedly have noticed us going on and on about our love for them. Sometimes the time restraints of wedding day timelines don’t always allow for long drives through the forest or a quick trip up a mountain top at the perfect moment to catch the sunset, but when it comes to an engagement session, there is absolutely nothing stopping us. Throw that rule book out the window because we live in the PNW and we have everything as our disposal. It’s time to go explore!
When Edward + Monica first told us that they were hoping to document their engagement overlooking Howe Sound from the viewing platforms of the Sea to Sky Gondola, we were of course over the moon excited. Like, really excited. As if that wasn’t exciting enough, when we mapped out our plan for their session we even managed to sneak in a little extra time to take a drive through Paradise Valley (the forest immediately surrounding Squamish’s Cheakamus Centre) where we quite literally parked the car on the side of the road, and got lost in the surrounding trees. If what you’re after is stunning mountain views and endless forests, holy crap look no further than Squamish because it’s the perfect location.
Monica + Edward are eloping later this year and we are the lucky duo fortunate enough to be coming along for the adventure. As if we needed another excuse to call ourselves professional third and fourth wheels, we will be joining them both on the Sunshine Coast where they will be saying ‘I do’ at one of our most favourite venues, The Point House. This job has brought us many joys in life, but none more so than the honour of two humans trusting us to document their journey together in life. It’s pretty rad, we’re not gonna lie.
